The Apartment At Home Ouranoupolis with a dream sea view in a top location, close to the beach, is exactly the right thing for an individual vacation. You stay apart in a beautiful owner complex with your own parking space. But just a few steps to the street and you are right in the middle of the action: 2 bakeries/cafes directly in front of you, bus stop and pilgrim`s office opposite, approx. 100m to the sea, 250m to the next organized beach, 100m to the beginning of the pedestrian zone with restaurants, bars, shops, 400m to the harbour. From the back side your home can be reached at ground level via a dirt road and from there you can go directly on hiking trails, past olive groves into the wonderful nature.The home has balcony with awning, fly nets, A/C, WiFi, safe, Sat-TV. The kitchen (with oven), bedroom and living room with sofa bed (3rd person & child or for 2 children) are visually separated. Bathroom with bathtub, hairdryer, washing machine. Welcome to Ouranoupolis, translated "Heaven`s town", the gateway to the monastic republic of Athos ! My name is Gaby Roos-Papadopoulos, I am German and I have been at home here for 30 years. The beauty of this landscape makes me say : we are here "at heaven`s door". I am still fascinated again and again by this sea view and these romantic sunsets.When I relax and look at this paradise from the balcony ( or even from inside the room) I can find myself and feel At Home. If you want to feel the same on your vacation, I `ll promise to contribute my best. I am living next door and can be reached by phone 24 hours a day. That means informations, organization etc. ( timetables, excursions, rental cars, scooters, doctors, beaches and bays, boat rentals, water sports, sights, archaeological sites, hiking trails, markets, museums, excursion routes, wineries etc. ) are my tools , my Know-how. As there are many different interests, as different possibilities you will find here to enjoy your holidays. A Must is the boat tour along the west coast of the monastic republic . The tours start from the harbour of Ouranoupoli also as swimming tours around the near islands, but also till Vourvourou of Sithonia. The absolutly hit is to rent a boat yourself ( no license required )( next boat rental ~ 200m away) and go to the Drenia islands or all around the bigger island of Ammouliani. There are lovely beaches everywhere, where you may moor. But there are also beautiful beaches and sights in the neighbor villages of Nea Roda and Ierissos. A nice hiking trail to the border of Mount Athos republic ( ~ 2,5 km one way ) leads to an interesting excavation and an almost secret beach. In general, there are many hiking trails with fantastic panoramic views. Other attractions in our area are the Park of Aristotle in Stagira, the picturesque village of Arnea with the imposing Bishop`s Church, the Ancient Stagira, the birthplace of Aristotle, close to Olympiada....just to name a few. At Tripiti, 6 km away, the ferry takes ~ 15 min. to Ammouliani and Sithonia is 1 hour by car.
