"Il Silenzio" is located in a small traditional Cretan village in southern Heraklion, «Magarikari», where peace and quiet are more than enough. Ideal for families with older children and friends who want to visit sunny beaches, historical and mountainous sights, relax together under the stars without losing their independence and full their minds and hearts with memories. Our house is built on two levels and is divided into two apartments with an external staircase. Comfortably accommodates 2 adults and 2 young children on the ground floor and 2 adults with one or two young children on the first floor (under the responsibility of their parents due to the existence of a staircase). On the ground floor (about 68 sq.M) there is a bedroom, a large room with a kitchen, a living room, a dining room and a large bathroom with shower. Outside there is a yard (160 sq.m) with parking space, dining room, wood oven and barbecue, ideal for eating and relaxing during the day, watching the sunset and the millions of stars at night . On the first floor (about 34 sq. M) there is a bedroom, a small kitchen, a sofa bed for two young children, and a bathroom with a shower and two balconies.

Hi !! I'm Ioannis !! I'm a fireman. I leave in Heraklio with my wife Virginia and my three kids. I don't speak very good English so you will probably meet my wife Virginia when you arrive at our house !!! Virginia loves to welcome her guests (but also respects their choice if they need privecy at the check in and want to take the key from the key box) and makes her best to have a great staying in our house!! She makes sure the house is clear and you have the right information about the area so you can plan your vacation better. Every year we visit places around the house and we put them in a guidebook, so you can choose where you want to go !!! We also try to inform you about events that take place these days arround so you can feel how a local feels !! We want you to relax in a silent place but also visit beautiful places like beaches, museums mountains and gorges. We want you to remember your vacation in our house smiling!!!

In the village there αre: a mini market, 2 traditional cafés , a small old outdoor basketball court, a square with a huge plane tree and a fountain where water flows all day long, a playground for kids where they can play or even do cycling, a square with the statue of Kapetan Petrakogiorgi, the Koule of Grammeni, the Church of Panagia Kera and the Church of Timios Stavros from where you can view the Libyan Sea. It is 10-25 minutes away from: -Beautiful sunny beaches of southern Heraklion such as: Komos, Matala, Kokkini Ammos, Afratias, Kalamaki, Kokkinos Pyrgos, Agia Galini, Pachimadi, Kalamaki etc. -Historical sites such as: Phaistos, Gortyna, Agia Triada, Kommos, Matala the Museum of Cretan Ethnology in Vori. -Zaros,Votomos, Vrontisi,the dam of Faneromeni. -Places where you can have fun and taste delicious dishes such as: Matala, Kalamaki, Kamilari, Agia Galini, Mires, Kokkinos Pyrgos, Cretan Zeus park. It is 30-1:20 minutes away from: Agiofarago,The forest of Rouvas, The Gorge of Rouvas, Zaros, Kalous Limenes, Lentas, Agios Pablos, Triopetra, Moni Preveli, Knossos. -Its a convenient place to stay if you intend to visit Nida or Psiloritis too.
