Nonna’s Eftihia House is a traditional stone house, built in the early 1900s, combining authentic island architecture with the warmth of a home filled with history and care. Its almost rectangular shape, the open-plan layout, and the three different floor levels create the feeling of independent rooms, while offering both functionality and character.
The decor features earthy tones, with a strong presence of wood in both natural and crafted forms. Vibrant yellow accents add brightness and positive energy to the space. Together, these elements create an environment that invites guests to relax and feel at home.
At the property, you’ll find a beautifully designed courtyard, ideal for moments of relaxation. Enjoy the sunset light on a west-facing terrace, perfect for watching unique sunsets with the backdrop of nature and the sea. With comfortable seating, natural materials, refined aesthetics, and a rich view, our courtyard offers the perfect space to start your day with coffee or end it with a glass of wine. Ideal for couples, families, or friends who appreciate tranquility, beauty, and the authentic hospitality of Kefalonia.
The accommodation is located in one of the island's traditional alleyways, preserving its authentic character. You can access it by car to a certain point; from there, a short walk of about 50 meters is required. Although the path is somewhat uneven, it’s a brief stroll through nature, enhancing the sense of authentic connection with the place.
Important Note on Access:
The property is accessible via a public path of approximately 50 meters, as it’s located in a traditional alleyway. Unfortunately, this path is in poor condition and requires extra caution, especially if you’re carrying luggage or traveling with elderly individuals or children.
We’d like to clarify that the state of the path is not our responsibility, as it is a public infrastructure.
My name is Konstantina, and I welcome you to my great-grandmother Eftihia’s house — a home filled with memories, love, and history. It has stood the test of time, even surviving the devastating 1953 earthquake, and holds deep emotional value for me.
I love offering an experience of authentic hospitality: traditional, simple, yet always warm and respectful toward every guest. Although I don’t live nearby, I work closely with trustworthy people who are there to take care of you with the same dedication and care.
As an occupational therapist, I deeply value connection, knowledge, and relaxation. That’s why you’ll find a curated selection of books in the house — literature, children’s stories, and titles about Kefalonia — as well as board games that bring people of all ages together, encouraging joy and meaningful interaction.
Nonna’s Eftihia House is more than just a place to stay — it’s a heartfelt embrace, a home with soul, waiting for you to make it your own.
The accommodation is located in the traditional village of Faraklata, just a 5-minute drive from Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia. It’s a quiet and picturesque neighborhood that perfectly combines the tranquility of nature with easy access to key spots on the island.
In Faraklata, you’ll experience the authentic Kefalonian atmosphere, with stone-built houses, traditional gardens, and stunning views of the Ionian Sea and surrounding mountains. At the heart of the village stands the impressive bell tower of Saint Dimitrios — the tallest in Kefalonia — adding a unique character to the area.
The neighborhood offers:
• Peace and relaxation, ideal for families and couples
• Quick access to beautiful beaches, such as Makris Gialos and Lourdata
• Traditional cafés and bakeries with local products
• Small hiking trails through nature
• Cultural points of interest, such as the Electricity Museum
If you're looking for an authentic island experience in a welcoming and historic setting, Faraklata is the perfect starting point for your holiday in Kefalonia.
