The mountain stands beside the house like a watchful sentinel…. The fragrant citrus orchard is a pleasure to stroll through…. The starry sky at night with no lights around or the sound of the sea that accompanies the night's sleep and some quiet moments under an olive tree with a book in hand… They say that it's a little paradise and, perhaps, it is!

I am a 35 years old graphic designer living in Athens, but I enjoy staying in our family home in Riza. It is a place to escape the fast paced life of the city and enjoy the calming effect of nature.

The Olive Grove that surrounds you ends at the seashore so you have an almost private beach for yourselves! The serenity of the place, the combination of the mountain and the sea and the calming affect of nature makes this place feel like a dream. The house is perfectly located on the edge of the olive grove surrounded by the sea and the mountain, just 15 minutes drive from the old port and the Castle of Nafpaktos, 1 hour and 30 min. from Ancient Olympia and 1hour and 45 min. from Delphi. The city of Patras with its neoclassical buildings, the wonderful archaeological museum, the majestic Byzantine churches and the beautiful castle is 15 km away. The Agios Andreas ( St.Andrew) church of this town is the largest church in Greece and the second largest in the Balkans. Outside the city you can visit the unique prehistoric cemetery of Voudeni. The river Evinos is the starting point for rafting 30 minutes away as well as the unique lagoon in Messolonghi with many fish taverns and colourful sunsets. In the neighborhood of St. Spyridon of this small town are two houses- museums of the families of the 7 times elected Prime Minister Charilaos Trikoupis and the poet Kostis Palamas. Both houses were built in 1850. - Favorite restaurants and fish taverns are within 5 - 15 minutes. - Cool bars and coffee shops: In Nafpaktos in front of the Old Port and in Antirrio and Makinia right by the sea.
