Tony Grant is a retired engineer living in Edinburgh. He has a large family of 7 children/stepchildren some of whom grew up in Corfu for a short time. So he has a heart - felt love for the island. He likes all sorts of cultural activities as well as walking and cycling. Eating out and retsina are other loves!

Property information

Jasmine Cottage lies at the top of the village just a few minutes walk from the main square where there is ample parking. It is in a very quiet location overlooking the church of Agios Georgios. From the terrace there are outstanding views over the olive groves to the sea, Corfu Town and the mainland mountains. The 200 year old village house has been tastefully modernised and furnished without compromising the traditional features. Downstairs there is a large dining kitchen, lounge with wood burning stove, bathroom and bedroom. Upstairs are two further bedrooms and a bathroom. The house sleeps 6. There is a vine shaded patio at the side for cool al fresco dining.

Neighbourhood information

The village of Ano Korakiana is situated just 16km (30 minutes) from the airport and the capital Corfu Town but is a whole world away. It is everything you could wish for from a traditional Greek village – winding, narrow streets and flower bedecked alleys. It lies in the centre of the island on the southern slopes of Mount Pantocrator but is just 4km. from the east coast resort of Ipsos and 10 km. from the renowned resort of Paleokastritsa on the west coast. There are basic facilities such as mini markets, cafes and a bakery with traditional taverna in neighbouring villages. The area is ideal for walking , steep cycling and other nature activities. There is a regular bus service from Ipsos to Corfu Town and hence other parts of the island.
