n 2013, I was called to serve an LDS Mission in Guatemala City, Guatemala. While there, I fell in love with everything that Guatemala has to offer and never wanted to let it go from my life. Upon returning, I came into contact with a beautiful girl that lived in the last area of my mission, and who would ultimately agree to become my forever bride. We married in 2017 and have lived many of the ups and downs that marriage and life has had to offer us. In 2021, we welcomed our first child, who was a boy! In 2022, while taking our annual trip to Guatemala to visit family and friends, as well as enjoy new experiences, I came to the realization that our 10 night stay in our studio apartment probably completely paid for the monthly rent of the owner! And with that thought, we conversed, and made our way to the office of the building developers realtor. We spoke to the realtor and develpment team for a couple of months before finally deciding on moving forward on a couple of apartments in a brand new building that would be housed in the most rapidly developing part of Guatemala, the Zona 10! Document upon document, signature after signature, bank transfer after bank transfer, we were locked into our new apartments! The only thing left to would be wait for the OK from the realty team. on May 27th of 2024, we finally received that message! Without any hesitation, we booked 3 tickets for a 5 day trip to get down to Guatemala to set up our apartments. With the help of my brother, 5 days of a serious lack of sleep, TERRIBLE weather, lots of emotions, and way too much work, we resulted in 2 fully furnished apartments that were ready to go on the Short Term Rental market!
