While Orlec is not located directly at sea, its central position on the island means that a number of beautiful beaches are within reach. The most well-known beach of Mali Bok featuring snow-white pebbles and crystal-clear waters is within a stone’s throw of the village.

You will be guided through all the haps and mishaps of your stay by your host, an old sea wolf with 40 years of sailing on all the seas of the world, who is now enjoying the fruits of his work with his faithful companion, Lučka.

While Orlec is not located directly at sea, it is conveniently situated so that a number of beautiful beaches are within reach. The most well-known beach of Mali Bok featuring snow-white pebbles and crystal-clear waters is within a stone’s throw of the village. Other beaches, including Miholašćica, Matinšćica/Slatina, Lubenice, Koromačna, Stivan, Ustrine and others are up to half an hour radius, and even the neighbouring island of Lošinj is but an hour’s drive away. A simple, peaceful life has always been lived in Orlec and is still being lived here. The people were mostly engaged in animal husbandry, agriculture, fishing, seafaring, olive growing and, in recent years, tourism. Attractions in Orlec and its surroundings include the parish church of St. Anthony, featuring frescoes by the famous Slovenian painter Tone Kralj, a plaster relief of St. Anthony the Hermit on the wall of the church, the Orlec folklore museum, two old olive mills, colourful little churches of which there are over 10, each with its own story, along with natural habitats of numerous species.
