Informazioni sul quartiere

Egerszalók is a small village with a population of nearly 2,000 between the Mátra and Bükk mountains, in the valley of the Laskó stream. A fishing lake is located north of the village, and a spa is located south of it. Its real attraction is the thermal spring that erupts from deep underground in the southern part of the village. The water flowing down the hillside has built a 1,900 square meter limestone deposit - a salt mound. On the outskirts of the village, there are beehive stones, which are the remains of rhyolite tuff that has become more strongly silicified due to the influence of the siliceous warm waters that have broken up as a result of numerous volcanic aftereffects. In the southern part of the village, there are cave dwellings cut into rhyolite tuff. One of the most popular destinations for hikers is the lake dammed on the Laskó stream, which is the largest surface water body in the Eger Bükkalja, and which has a significant nature conservation value with its wildlife and birdlife.
