Hello, I'm a Javanese native who's passionate about living in a slow and quiet space (an introvert here!). I created Banyu Kasongan Homestay to share the authentic side of south Yogyakarta that most people rarely experience. I live on the property (with cats), so I'm always available to help with anything you need – from directions to restaurant recommendations to arranging pottery workshops with local artisans nearby. Kasongan village is one of Yogyakarta's most authentic cultural treasures, yet it remains blissfully free of tourist crowds. Located in Bantul district, about 7 km south of Yogyakarta city center, Kasongan has been the center of traditional pottery making for over 50 years. Unlike staying in Malioboro or Prawirotaman (the main tourist areas), Kasongan is a genuine residential neighborhood. You'll wake to roosters and village sounds, not motorbike traffic. It's the quietest place to stay in all of Yogyakarta - perfect for deep sleep, focused remote work, or simply decompressing from travel.
