The rooms are cosy and quaint. The house was built in the 1800s and has that old style feel about it yet the rooms are modernised and comfy. In the summer the sun floods in the windows in the evening and in the winter the fire is lit downstairs and the heating keeps the rooms nice and toasty.

I love to welcome people into my Guesthouse and provide them with whatever they need. They need only ask. I am a very keen horse rider and love to go trekking and take part in cross country jumping at least 5 times a week. This can be arranged for any keen horse enthusiasts at the local equestrian centre, Flowerhill.

Gordon's Guesthouse is a out the country in a lovely little village called Tynagh. We are a 30 minute drive from Galway city. Our nearest towns are Portumna and Loughrea. We are also very close to the village of Killimor. Portumna is a beautiful picturesque town with the river Shannon running through. It boasts a Castle with beautiful gardens surrounding and a tea room to relax in after youve been for a leisurely stroll. There is also a marina there to look out over the water and a forest park. These are all in the one area so you can park your car and spend the day. Also in Portumna is a workhouse which is well worth a visit. There are lovely bars and restaurants there and its 10 minutes drive from the Guesthouse. Transport can be arranged if you would like to partake in a pint of Guinness!! Loughrea, a bustling little town has lots of shops, pubs and restaurants. It also has a beautiful lake and a lovely place to go walking in the evening. it is 15 minute drive from the Guesthouse and there are buses running regularly into and from Galway, Athlone and Dublin from here. Again a taxi can be arranged to Loughrea if required.
