Set in a picturesque, tranquil setting, on a working dairy farm, the cottage boasts a large interesting garden with many granite features.. The Cottage is semi detached to, but independent of the main House, The Lodge, and is accessed through a gated granite entrance. A picturesque avenue lined with lanterns leads you to The Cottage. There is a large patio with bbq-gas supplied and outdoor seating for 10. The garden has a sunken trampoline and a children's climbing frame. The cottage boasts large windows and is decorated to the highest standard. The added comfort of underfloor heating, including a stove in the TV room-timber supplied free of charge, assures comfort for our guests. Plenty of towels are provided with hairdryers in each bedroom. The property is secured with CCTV Cameras and is secured with a fitted house alarm.
A warm welcome awaits all guests. Fresh flowers are scattered through out the cottage, on arrival. During the Winter months, the warm glow of the stove welcomes guests. With a love of hosting I love to share local knowledge with guests and I am here to offer any further advice, if required, during your stay, while assuring your privacy at all times. A welcome pack of tea/coffee/milk/ sugar is provided.
Mt. Wolseley Hotel and Champion Golf Resort is 2.8km. Huntington Castle, with tour of castle/tea rooms is situated in the beautiful award winning village of Clonegal, 17km Altamont Gardens famous for it's historical building and ornamental gardens, 10km. Duckett;s Grove is a ruined 19th century house and former estate in County Carlow, 10.7km. Rathwood Garden & Home Centre has a large selection of home and garden furnishings, clothes boutigues, day time restaurant and interesting walks. Rathwood runs family events through the year and is 5.5km. The Delta Sensory Gardens in Carlow are very interesting with many gardens designed by many famous rIish garden designers, 16.9km Restaurants: Evening: Fredericks Restaurant in Mt Wolseley Hotel 2.8km. The Riverbank Restaurant, all day, 1.5km. The Tara Arms, all day, 900m. New Moon Indian, evening,700m. Sha Roe Bistro, an award winning restaurant is beside Huntington Castle in Clonegal,17 km, advance booking essential. There is a range of Indian, Chinese, Italian and Pizza restaurants, with delivery options available. There are 4 large supermarkets, Supervalu, Tesco, Aldi and Lidl and many more local shops with fresh local products.
