I am a writer and Film Producer/Director, this is my family home when the season comes round I like to be here as I always long to be close to the ocean.

As this is home, the place naturally holds a deep seat in my emotions. The story of the development of our house over the years from when it was built to the present day has been the journey of our family and the vision of my Father and Mother. Our home is situated directly above the beach and ocean with majestic views of the entire bay of Ballyheigue and the wonderful mountains of Slieve Mish all the way to Brandon on the far side. From our dining room and lounge the peace and tranquility of home in such a magnificent surrounding is a treasure for the heart and soul of all who come to stay. To sit in your room and look out at the sea is pure therapy.

There is a golf course located 5 minutes walk from our B&B in the grounds of a ruined castle estate. There is a mapped country walk up and over the hills over looking the bay of Ballyheigue. There is a playground 3 minutes walk from our house overlooking the beach. Within 10 miles there are a number of ruined monasteries from the 11th century, and a well preserved round tower from the 9th century. The beach is a blue flag award winning beach, safe for kids and adults to swim. There are miles of rock pools to adventure along where little species of crustaceans and fish dwell. For wild life enthusiasts, the sea shore is a harbour and sanctuary for a variety of coastal sea birds.
