The house sleeps up to 8 guests, making it an ideal choice for couples, families, or groups of friends. The location is a great base for exploring the lovely Lough Derg, whether you’re feeling up for water activities, fishing, golfing, scenic walks, or simply soaking in the surrounding areas.

I have lived in Mountshannon for 30 years and I love taking walks around Mountshannon. It is a beautiful area to explore. I hope you enjoy it s much as I do!

The house is situated between the lakeside villages of Mountshannon and Whitegate. Both villages are just a 2 minute drive from the house, providing guests with some great options for coffee shops, pubs and restaurants (with fantastic food, great music and a warm friendly welcome from the locals!). Mountshannon also has a maze, a playground and a small Blue Flag beach beside the marina, perfect for a swim. This is a great base for exploring East Clare, whether its hiking, fishing, golfing, swimming, kayaking or taking a boat trip to Holy Island. There is plenty of space in the garage for the storage of any equipment you may have. The small towns of Scariff, Portumna and Killaloe are less than 25 mins drive, with cities such as Limerick and Galway about an hour away. Travelling by car is highly recommended in order to explore all that the area has to offer.
