Murrisk is a beautiful village at the foot of Croagh Patrick situated between sea and mountain on Ireland's Atlantic seaboard and has offered a unique blend of heritage, history and hospitality to visitors for thousands of years. The history of the area is inextricably linked to that of the mountain which has been a place of worship and pilgrimage for thousands of years. The village has a rich heritage with several significant archaeological sites, a 15th century Abbey and a national memorial commemorating the Irish Famine. This heritage combined with its location on the Atlantic coast has made the village a popular tourist destination.

The Wild Atlantic Way follows the west coast of Ireland hugging the Atlantic seaboard from Donegal through Mayo down to Kerry and then along the south coast to Cork.
