The Chalet is actually a Glamping Pod and is a wonderful place to base your exploration of West Cork and Kerry. It is ideal for 2 or 3 adults or a family of 4. (It is a bit small for 4 adults). Please note that dogs live on the premises. Location 51°52'09.0"N 8°58'18.1"W Tig Lammax is in a rural setting, 4 miles from Macroom town (the nearest shops & public transport). As such it is ideal for those who like to get away from the noise & bustle of the town or city. We are conveniently located mid way between Cork city (40 mins) & Killarney/Kenmare (45 mins) so well placed for exploring all of County Cork, or as a gateway to the beautiful countryside of Kerry. We are one mile from the Danone Nutricia baby food factory & the commercial areas of Macroom town are only 10 minutes drive away. Please note that the Outhouse, containing the shower and kitchen facilities, is at the other end of the garden, some 40m away from the Pod.

I am a photographer and filmmaker, sound engineer & podcaster. I am also very active in Toastmasters. We enjoy hosting people from all over the world.

Our neighbourhood is typically rural with farm fields surrounding the property with cattle (milk and beef). 1km away is the beautiful Gearagh National Nature Reserve - an unique post-glacial alluvial forest, great for birdwatchers, walkers, and fishermen. A few miles away is the forest walk of Farran, 30 minutes away is the lake and walk at Gougane Barra, and Warrenscourt Forest Walk is only 10 mins away. Historical sites of Beal na Blath (site of the killing of Michael Collins) and the Kilmichael ambush are both nearby. Further afield are Cork city (40 mins to centre) and Killarney (45 mins) and of course from there to the spectacular landscape of Co Kerry. Further south and west are Bantry and west Cork.
