Built around 1880 as a summer home overlooking a coconut grove, just 100-metres from the pristine Bogmalo Beach, the Bungalow captures a by-gone era. It was built from locally sourced laterite, mud and lime plaster with a Mangalore tiled roof supported by locally made coconut rafters. It was designed to be a rest house for the bhatkar (landlord) and his family who would relocate temporarily to oversee works on the coconut plantations: harvest(paadó) and the upkeep of the estate. Most recently, in 2022, the Bungalow underwent extensive restoration works with the addition of safety features, modern amenities like attached bath-toilets, air-conditioners to each room while maintaining the originality and heritage of the home. The mud walls, tiled roof, together with plenty of windows, ensures natural light and a cool ambience through the day. The Bungalow, 100 mts from Bogmalo beach, is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the serenity of Goan coastal village life. It is our endeavour to give you a heritage home experience to remember.
