Featuring a museum which tells the story of Icelandic strongman Reynir Sterki Leósson, this guesthouse is 4 km from Keflavík International Airport and 20 minutes’ drive from the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa. The property also offer Free WiFi. At Kef Guesthouse, rooms have either private or shared bathroom facilities. All rooms feature bright, modern décor and furnishings. The guests can also use the kitchen (if they need to cook or prepare meals) from 05:00-11:00 am and from 15:00-23:00 pm. In between the cleaning lady is cleaning it. Other facilities offered at Kef Guesthouse by Keflavík airport include a vending machine and a garden. There is also a guest kitchen and lounge. My name is Björgvin Sævarsson and I am the manager of Kef Guesthouse. I am running this guesthouse along with my family members as well as our great staff of course.

This house was a part of the USA army base in 1960 and was actually part of the airport. After that it became the district commissioners office as well as a police station. During its time as a police station an Icelandic strongman Reynir Sterki Leóson agreed on being heavily chained and handcuffed behind a closed cell door where he would attempt to brake out which by the way he managed to do in approximately 6 hrs which is just unbelievable! Due to the fact that the house has a story to tell and is a part of the history we decided to redesign & rebuild as a modern guesthouse & thereby holding on to the history for our guest to enjoy.

The Reykjanes Peninsula has plenty of interesting activities, not to mention the volcano Fagradalsfjall and the active/ongoing eruption at Geldingadalir, the world famous Blue Lagoon, the geothermal area of Gunnuhver as well as the Bridge between continents, Þorbjörn (Thorbjorn) the volcano, the Viking World museum and the Icelandic Museum of Rock & Roll, the lighthouse at Reykjanes and/or Garður (Garðskagi) which both are ideal locations for a walk on the beach or even more exciting aurora hunting during the winter season.
