San Fruttuoso Capodimonte can be reached exclusively by sea - numerous ferries depart from nearby villages like Recco, Camogli, Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo, or on foot, following millenary paths which, starting from the summit of Monte di Portofino, they descend more or less steeply, towards the bay. The jewel of the bay is the Abbey, built by Benedictine monks around the year 1000 and today a FAI garrison, and the towering Torre D'Oria, which has watched over the entire bay for almost a thousand years.
The Casa dell'Arco apartment is located in the east side of the bay; it is the only building in the village that overlooks the sea directly and enjoys a view, as well as the sea, of the Tower and the western bay.
From here you can access the sea directly from "under the house", or from one of the two free beaches that are present in the village. Our guests will disposal of a terrace equipped for having lunch outside or relaxing or have sunbathing.
Welcome to San Fruttuoso!
I'm Emanuela, I'm 45 and I've spent the last 15 years dealing with welcoming tourists and hikers who come to visit the Portofino Natural Park. With my agricolture cooperative Il giardino del borgo di San Fruttuoso, since 2008 I have been managing the Agririfugio Molini: a farmhouse that is a bit of a refuge located behind San Fruttuoso, 190 meters above sea level (coming from the sea you will see a white house in the middle of the greenery!) I like meeting new people and at the same time I like to introduce them to our territory and make them feel a bit like at home. That of the apartments will be a new challenge that I hope to be able to manage in the best possible way!
The Arco'House is located in the tiny village of San Fruttuoso Capodimonte. During the day the bay is overrun by many tourists and swimmers but in the early hours of the day, as well as the latter, the bay will be just for you!
During the day there are 5 restaurants that prepare rich fish menus or typical dishes of the Ligurian tradition; in the evening only the Ristante Giovanni is open to the public but only a few days a week, or, if you feel like walking a bit, the Agririfugio Molini, which, upon reservation, offers an à la carte menu and a unique panorama of the bay (this one open every evening).
Alternatively we can let you find everything what you need to prepare and enjoy an excellent Ligurian dinner directly in the apartment (trofie, a special kind of pasta, with local pesto, vegetable pie, fruit, wine and brioches for breakfast) for 25 Euros per person.
Staying in San Fruttuoso means having time to dedicate to relax, practice water sports, walks in a wild nature but also to devote yourself to cultural interests: take a guided tour of the Abbey, go on foot or by ferry to Portofino, walk along the paths of Monte in search of WWII bunkers and much more.
In the months of July and August (reservation required, at least the day before the excursion), it is possible to take part in boat excursions to visit Porto Venere and the Cinque Terre. You can also go to Genoa directly by ferry (departure from Camogli and return by ferry or train) or take part in the Wale Watching boat excursions.
