Casa Luigia, situated in the small picturesque hill-side village of Tessi, is the perfect getaway for people who love mountains, tranquillity and nature. Despite its quiet location, it is only 5km away from the beautiful sea side village of Moneglia and 12km from the vibrant sea town of Sestri Levante. For trekking lovers, there are several hiking trails in the nearby mountains of Bracco (10 mins drive), some passing from our village. The house is also well located to visit the nearby tourist attractions ( 5 Terre, Portofino, Camogli etc). The independent apartment is located on the ground floor of a 2-floor house and is surrounded by a big garden, with lush vegetation and olive trees, where you could admire the mountains from one side and the sea in the distance on the other side. There is a small table & chairs to sit under an umbrella and relax . Simply yet tastefully decorated, the apartment maintains the old charm of a traditional countryside home found in the Italian Riviera, in combination with modern comfort. The 40sqm apartment consists of a fully equipped kitchen, one open-plan living room/bedroom with a double bed and a dining table, a small room with 2 bunk beds, a small bathroom - with shower and toilet with spray hose. Please note that, although the 2 beds are located in two separate spaces, there is no door separating the two rooms so the space may suit better a family or a couple. There is a bus stop in front of our house (for buses towards Moneglia, Sestri Levante and Bracco). There is no minimarket or other in Tessi, however there is the possibility to buy homemade pasta. Supermarkets and shops can be found in Moneglia or for cheapest options Casarza or Sestri. Nearest reastaurants are at 5-10 minutes drive. Free wifi and parking. Pet friendly. NOTE: At your arrival our co-hosts will show you the amenities and ask you for the documents and the tourist tax (1 euro per person per night-adults older than 14 years old- for a maximum of 7 nights).

I am Italian and I was born in my grandmother's home Casa Luigia as my grandmother was a midwife. That is why Casa Luigia has a special place in my heart and I have so many fond memories of my childhood holidays there. After leaving Italy at the age of 26, I studied in London and worked as a medical biologist for 9 years and then decided that it was time for a big change. I moved to Cyprus and I opened a small bed and breakfast in the village of my husband. I spend my time making jams, home made cheese, liquers and collecting wild edible plants. My 2 great passions are travelling and rescuing animals

The nearest center is the charming village of Moneglia (10 mins drive), a traditional colorful ligurian village with narrow alleys (called carrugi) where you could relax at the beach and find all the services you may need (supermarkets, shops, coffee shops and restaurants). Alternatively, the biggest town of Sestri Levante can be reached though the Aurelia mountain road and is approximately 20 min drive away. Casa Luigia is an excellent yet quiet off-the-beaten accommodation that guests could use as their base to explore the much more touristic and busy sights of the Italian Riviera, including the world known 5 Terre, Santa Margherita/Portofino, Camogli/San Fruttuoso. All these locations can be reached by car (via mountain roads) or by train or boat from Moneglia and Sestri Levante. For trekking enthusiasts, numerous paths are marked in the surrounding area, some in the nearby mountains of Bracco (only 5 min drive away) and some running down towards the sea through traditional, picturesque and colourful villages. One of this paths starts in the old village of Tessi and reaches Comeglio or San Saturnino and then continues down to Moneglia. Ask for trekking maps at Pro Loco in Moneglia. The closest restaurants are Trattoria Pagliettini in Comeglio (5 mins drive) and L’Uliveto in Camposoprano (10 mins drive), both serving excellent traditional Ligurian dishes at a very good price. You will find few small supermarkets and shops in Moneglia. But for cheapest options head towards Casarza Ligure or Sestri Levante (Eurospin, Penny, Doro, Gulliver, COOP, DiMeglio etc).
