Built in the 1600s and passed down through three generations of my family, the house feels like a living novel, where every room tells a chapter of our history. Originally an ancient convent, it still exudes an aura of peace and sanctity, enriched by the memories of my grandparents, who transformed it into a lively center of activity.
In the 1950s, as Italy recovered from World War II, my grandfather and his brother started a small egg business, biking through nearby villages to buy eggs and sell them at the market. Before long, the courtyard became a bustling farm with over 3,000 hens, and what is now the cozy living room was once used to store eggs, thanks to its naturally cool temperature.
The house also played a role in silk production: on the top floor, a large fireplace kept silkworms warm during the winter. But beyond commerce, this home has always been the setting for a love story and a deep sense of family — a spirit that still lives in its walls today.
