L'Eremo della Maddalena è una residenza storica che si affitta per vacanze e eventi.Sorge isolato su un colle a circa 3 km dall'abitato di Monterosso: già intitolato a S.Lorenzo in Terriccio, fu sede di una comunità di monaci benedettini dipendenti dal monastero di S.Gerolamo della Cervara presso Portofino, la cui prima menzione risale al 1244.
Esso è composto da due corpi di fabbrica: la chiesa a nord e il monastero a sud.
La chiesa, ha un semplice impianto a aula unica rettangolare terminante con un abside semicircolare, ed è costruita con blocchi squadrati di arenaria disposti a filari regolari sovrapposti.
Un primo rifacimento della chiesa è documentato nel 1427,quando gli uomini della comunità ne sopraelevarono le murature . Annesso alla chiesa si trova il monastero ,disposto su due lati di un piccolo chiostro con archetti in laterizi. Le celle originarie al primo piano e al piano chiostro sono oggi adibite a camere da letto. Il
criptoportico verso mezzogiorno adibito a cantina fino al XV secolo è coperto da volte a vela e oggi trasformato nel soggiorno sul giardino.
