Extreme tip of Asti province, almost on the border with Liguria, the Langa Astigiana is a territory of great charm for many aspects: the altitude of its hills where the vineyards gradually give way to hazelnut groves, pastures and woods, the climate that is already affected by the proximity of the sea and allows to see the broom and rare orchids flourish, its small medieval villages, the ancient watchtowers raised, according to tradition, to counter the invasions of the Saracens. All crossed by panoramic roads and routes to go by foot, by mountain bike or on horseback. "Il Giro delle Cinque Torri" winds through this territory: from the historic circular route that takes place on the ridges of the Langa Astigiana, crossing the municipalities of Monastero Bormida, Bubbio, Loazzolo, Cessole, Vesime, San Giorgio Scarampi, Olmo Gentile and Roccaverano, the Unesco heritage territories northerly and the Ligurian Apennines southerly can be reached and from here the international value itinerary called "Alta Via dei Monti Liguri". This part of Langa still preserves its original characteristics: rugged and sweet, wild and cultivated, rich in history, monuments, flora and fauna. In particular, it will be possible to admire and visit the medieval towers that stand out along the route, immobile witnesses of history.
