Property information

Villa Raniero Gatti is located in front of Castel San Michele which was built between the 11th and 16th century. It is the former castle of the Condottiere Baglioni, then owned by Catherine of Medicis and by the prince of Montholon. The Villetta enjoys a stunning view on the valley as it is built on a promontory, surrounded by former walls and towers, around a quiet square. It is located at the end of a charming village with friendly bakery and grocey shops. The Villetta is located 20km south of Orvieto, 1h20mn from Rome (very accessible by train or car), and less than 1 hour from the Tarquinia sea resort, with direct access to Viterbo and its spas/hot springs (Terme dei Papi) and to the Bolsena lake. It is nested within the Valle dei Calanchi park which includes Civitella di Bagnoreggio in particular. The Tuschia region is full of medieval villages, Roman and Estruquian ruins as well as hiking trails and Spas around the castle.
