OUR HISTORY
This was the ancient summer residence of our ancestors. The family used to reside at Statella from the beginning of the harvest wheat till the end of the olive harvest. The baglio was a small sorting centre for all the products that came from other farms, and all year round the estate was runned by the Massari. Our father has brought the family countryside estate to its ancient splendor by focousing on the needs of new generations. We live here to cherish its value every day, and this is what we want to pass to our guests.
THE COMPLEX
It was a real village: from the current entrance, the first door on the right was the chapel, deconsecrated after the Second World War and today it’s the reception. Following, on the same side there was the kitchen with a stone oven – and still today is the kitchen that serves the restaurant. The room where the barrels were kept is today the restaurant hall, connected the old chicken coop, today transformed into a terrace for outdoor meals. The breakfast room was the stable and the carriage depot. The architecture of all the rooms still preserves the original flooring. Also particular attention has been paid to the lighting that recalls the town’s outdoor installations; The soft low voltage lighting warms up the tools that adorn the walls of the room.
The breakfasts offered to the guests are prepared with dedication and love by the Scala sisters using ancient family recipes, among these stand out the Biancomangiare and jams, made only with fruits and sugar.
Two large and warm rooms are available to the guests to spend relaxing moments, organizing meetings or having fun with friends. Originally the park was a villa designed by an agronomist ancestor who imported ideas and plants from his various journeys. Long and wide forest, with its wide corridors, is the ideal place for practice fitness or long walks.
