Podere Orto is an eco-friendly and sustainable winery with rooms located in Trevinano (Alta Tuscia). We are located in the “Trivium”: an unspoilt, borderless area where Lazio meets Umbria and Tuscany. Our wines follow spontaneous fermentations, no yeasts are added. Wine tours and tastings plus a welcome glass of our wine are included in your stay. We only have 4 rooms, all different and beautifully decorated. There is no TV, in order to guarantee total peace and tranquillity, nor any air conditioning system, which is useless (nights are always cool). Each room does have a fan. We will be glad to take care of all your needs, e.g. reserving spa treatments, your next hotel, a lake tour, or just to give you some suggestions about the not-to-be-missed sightseeings of the area. PLS note that there's no swimming pool--our soil is all occupied by vineyards and olive trees! You can rest, sunbathe and swim either at the nearby Bolsena Lake or at the public swimming pools in Proceno or Sarteano. Please let us know if you'd like to book a table at a nearby restaurant, we wil be glad to help. Our breakfast is a rich selection of top quality organic, local & handmade products served in Bone China. It can be tasted in our common hall, in your room or in the garden (in summer), in very special baskets full of delicacies.
I've always wanted to be an innkeeper. And Podere Orto made this dream come true. I love music, movies and traveling. I love cooking and transforming my farm's products. I moved from Rome to Trevinano in 2011 to live in an immaculate natural spot with my family and several pets. I have radically changed my lifestyle because I strongly believe in a sustainable and eco-friendly way of living. Podere Orto is a sustainable winery and bed & breakfast founded on solid values: working the land without exploiting it, respecting the ecosystem, consuming in a responsible way, giving up the superfluous and focussing on the essential. A project born from the desire to share this experience and our home with everyone who wishes to come and pay us a visit. To take care of our guests is the utmost priority for us. This is why we chose only the best materials and accessories for your stay: solid-wood beds, handmade tiles, Venetian chandeliers, natural bathroom amenities, hand-embroidered linen, Bone China for your breakfast, and so on.
Trevinano is located on the border of the Rufeno Natural Reserve, at the corner between Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany. Here nature is immaculate, and we enjoy a very peculiar atmosphere due to the 3 regions coming together. We are located just a few miles from Orvieto, Sorano, Città della Pieve, Lake Trasimeno, Civita di Bagnoregio, Cetona, Bolsena and its Lake, San Casciano's spa waters, val d'Orcia, Bagno Vignoni and Bagni San Filippo, Montepulciano and Pienza, 2 hours south of Florence and 2 hours north of Rome. The perfect place in the middle of everything for a gourmet and relaxing holiday, to eat and drink excellently and totally enjoy your experience.
