Bicycles can be stored safely in the downstairs hallway. Our place is simple and modest—nothing luxurious—but it’s clean, comfortable (the beds are great!), and a perfect base for exploring the incredible sights of Sicily like Mount Etna and Taormina, etc. We’ve recently refreshed it with a new coat of paint and a new sofa bed in the living room, so it feels fresh and functional. The bathroom is a little dated (and the bidet isn’t currently working), but everything else works well. We’re planning a full renovation after the season ends in October—at which point the price will reflect the upgrades. We love staying here ourselves when visiting Sicily. It’s perfectly located just 50m from the beach, with beautiful views of the sea and Mount Etna—everything you need for a memorable trip. Not only do we provide clean, fresh towels and essentials like toilet paper, soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner as standard, but we also include Lavazza A Modo Mio coffee capsules at no extra cost—so you can enjoy a proper Italian coffee on the terrace. Our caretaker Davide is local and will be there for anything you need with regards to the accommodation, including mid stay cleans and changing of towels (both at additional costs) plus, will be meeting you upon your arrival to check you in and show you around the apartment. New law in Italy states that all guests must provide a valid ID of themselves, that we need to capture. Mount Etna, Europe’s most active volcano, is under an hour away and ideal for hiking, jeep tours, and even skiing (yes, skiing!) on black volcanic snow from December to March. Helicopter rides over Etna are also available and unforgettable. Catania is an hour by car or just over an hour by train. The train station is a 25-30 min walk, and the Circumetnea railway also runs from Riposto. The Alcantara Valley (45 mins by car) is perfect for adventurous travellers, while Acireale nearby is known for the best granitas in Sicily. The area is a foodie’s dream: excellent local restaurants with great value, and even Michelin-starred options for those seeking something special. Fresh seafood, pasta alla Norma, and arancini are just a few highlights. Many eateries are family-run, offering warm hospitality and dishes passed down through generations. Cycling enthusiasts will enjoy scenic coastal routes and countryside trails lined with citrus groves and lava-stone villages. You can also visit Bagni Arabi, a restored Arab bathhouse just 10 minutes away by car—a peaceful, historic site perfect for a short wellness escape. Whether you’re here to relax by the beach (just 50m away), explore cultural sites, or dive into nature, Riposto is the perfect base for a rich and memorable Sicilian stay.
