More than 50,000 centuries old olive trees with their superb architectures shaped by centuries that challenge the time, charmingly embrace the Tenuta, architectural jewel of Salento, integrated in perfect harmony between history and modernity. Masseria Monacelli, a fortified farm of the sixteenth century and Masseria Giampaolo, an exclusive hamlet of the '400, are set with their watch towers in the heart of Salento. Located near the Romanesque-Byzantine Abbey of S. Maria a Cerrate, today among the assets of the Italian Environment Fund, they witness traces of history. Both hold a precious ipogeous crusher, the storage rooms of the olives and the shelter of the crusher. A place that emphasizes the importance and wealth of the entire complex over the centuries. The Tenuta offers the opportunity to taste extra virgin olive oil produced locally, on request.

The Abbey of Santa Maria di Cerrate is one of the most significant example of Romanesque architecture in Puglia.The abbey dates from the 12th century. Today it shows typical decorations from Salento area, an arcade wing on the left hand side of the church and a well from the 16th century. Next to the Abbey, the Museum of Popular Traditions. Here, among the other finds, it is possible to admire panels with frescos from the aisles.
