The structure is housed on the first floor in a condominium complex. It's 200 meters from Palese Railway Station, 3 km away from the airport, fifty meters from the exit on the state road to Bari and Foggia. The two bedrooms and the living room are furnished with valuable classic furniture of family origin, as well as rustic furnishings from Finland. There is a basket of games and DVDs of cartoons for children.
The beautiful sea of Palese is a few hundred meters walkable for a swim in the clear waters or a dinner in one of the excellent local restaurants. You can book guided tours in the historic center of Bari, excursions to any other place in Puglia and Basilicata (I'm an official guide in English and Finnish of the Puglia Region ), organize business meetings for up to ten people. A computer and a projector with a screen, if necessary, will be at your disposal and I will give you collaboration for excellent results of the meetings. Puglia, hospitable people: what else?
My warm welcome to "The Architect B & B", a place to stay, but also for work: it's in a design studio! It is my environment as an architect, who is also an appreciated and rewarded poet, painter, photographer. In fact, in Bari, where I have worked for decades in the protection and enhancement of historical landscapes, I am well known as the "archpoet". For many years I have been involved in participatory urban planning and ecomuseums and I know every material and immaterial asset of the territory. You will find my drawings and paintings, lots of books, objects and furniture from various parts of Europe (especially from Finland, my fatherland by adoption). You are all welcome, regardless of physical conditions, language, country of origin. I speak English and Finnish and I will help you discover Puglia, the extraordinary land where I was born and many years ago I chose to come back to life. I will tease you with pleasant breakfasts (special needs will not create problems, as long as you communicate them before arrival), to be consumed in the living room or on the large balcony.
Palese is part, together with Santo Spirito, San Pio and Catino, of the 5th local council of Bari. It's located in a territory of ancient history; many were the discoveries of Neolithic settlements dating back to 8-10,000 years and started from the rocky coast to the current Bitonto. The village is small and everything be reached on foot: in a radius of a few hundred meters you will find a supermarket, four bars / cafes, delicatessen, patisseries, two banks, two churches.
Once predominantly a summer resort, there are still in Palese beautiful historic villas with large gardens and parks, as well as the remains of ancient settlements in an agrarian territory with ancient haystacks, rural churches and centuries-old olive groves. The district is just a few kilometers from the center of Bari and villages to visit and full of historical presences (cathedrals, castles) and cultural events and festivals (I'm myself the organizer of one of them), such as Giovinazzo, Bitonto, Modugno, Molfetta, Palo del Colle. I will give you a map with places of interest and you will always be updated on events. Outside the condominium complex, in a very quiet area, you will never have parking problems.
