The Bergamot is a tiny jewel set in the real hidden Italy, a chance to experience the country and its amazing food and wine very much off the beaten track. The apartment is exceptionally well equipped for foodies with a fabulous Smeg cooker, huge fridge and lots of equipment from pasta roller to icecream maker. Gorgeous romantic claw foot bath in a cave, open log fire, lots of candles and double bed set on a mezzanine.

I have lived in this small town for 8 years after falling very much in love with this hidden part of Italy. My background is wine and food and l love to learn all the local recipes and create new dishes with the amazing produce that grows zero kilometres away from here. Every month and season offers some thing new to eat. Our Olive oil is amazing, l make my own wine, salami, lots of jams. A welcome pack contains all my home made goodies. I also love old furniture and l probabaly invented shabby chic, have furnished houses all my life like this. I love the peace and tranquillity of life here and want to share my retreat from the frenetic way of life with guests who appreciate

The Bergamot is set in Old Town of Tursi, just on the edge of the village with amazing veiws of 8th Century Arabic village La Rabatana and the 13th Century Convent of San Francesco. Its the real Italy with washing strung across the streets and the wonderful odours of seasonal food cooking, pepperoni or frittata, a place to learn a different way of life, the oace of 70 years ago.
