While the owners live in a separate apartment on the ground floor, the terrace and pool are for your exclusive use—your privacy is always respected. We met here in Cicogna in 2004 ... and fell in love with the simple pleasures of rural Tuscany. Returning year on year with our family, it was a dream come true when the opportunity arose for us to have our own villa in 2016. It took a few years but we finalised the purchase at the end of 2019 and intend to create a luxury holiday villa and event venue space on the terrace and spectacular wine cellar. We now split our time between our property in Masham in North Yorkshire and here in Italy. Villa Cicogna is located in the heart of Tuscany, in the small peaceful village of Cicogna—just under an hour south of Florence and about 45 minutes from Siena/Arezzo/Chianti. It’s an ideal base for exploring the region’s rich culture, food, wine, and historic towns. Most of our guests fly into Pisa or Florence. From Pisa, the scenic drive takes around 90 minutes; from Florence, it’s even closer. The village offers simple, everyday pleasures—like walking to the local shop for fresh bread and groceries. Just five minutes down the hill by car, the nearby town of Terranuova Bracciolini provides additional amenities, restaurants, and shops. The area is also popular with cyclists, thanks to its beautiful routes and rolling hills. In fact, an annual race passes right by the villa—an exciting event that adds a touch of local colour to your stay. Whether you’re here to explore or simply unwind, Cicogna offers the perfect blend of authenticity, convenience, and tranquillity.
