Villa di Nera is located in Palermo a stone’s throw from the sea, in the charming and picturesque seaside village of Arenella, on the streets you will find fishermen selling freshly caught fish, carts full of seasonal fruit and the traditional Thursday street market. To welcome you our rooms, modern and refined where contemporary style and design meet in a unique combination of tradition and love for the territory.
We love taking care of our guests, telling Palermo from the point of view of those who live and love it, being hospitable as only a Sicilian knows how to do. With us you will find a serious and professional environment where Commitment and passion are the basis of our work, with the only difference that here you will be at home.
La nostra Borgata Arenella Nato come borgo di pescatori, si sviluppò attorno alla Tonnara Florio durante l’Ottocento. Attualmente al suo interno si trovano due porti turistici, un tempo per soli pescatori. Il nome Arenella deriva dal siciliano Rinedda, che indica la sabbia finissima della spiaggia di tale zona. L’Arenella nasce come piccolo borgo di pescatori, sorto intorno ad una tonnara istituita intorno al XIV secolo per concessione del re. Nella zona era già presente da almeno tre secoli un porticciolo, che secondo le testimonianze storiche fu il punto di approdo dei Normanni per conquistare la città di Palermo nel 1072. Fino agli inizi del XX secolo, lo sviluppo della borgata è stato legato a doppio filo con il successo imprenditoriale della famiglia Florio
