Hi, I’m Daniele!
Welcome to Wooden Stories, a place that tells my family’s story through wood. Every piece of furniture, window, staircase, or detail you’ll find in the house was handcrafted by my father, with passion and care. Each piece has a soul and a story to tell.
I live immersed in the wild nature of the Friulian Dolomites and the Julian Alps, in an authentic and quiet corner, far from mass tourism.
This is my first experience as a host, but I know the area inside out—every trail, every viewpoint, every hidden corner.
I love the mountains, trekking, climbing, biking, and woodworking—a passion I carry on, following in my father’s footsteps.
Wooden Stories is the perfect retreat for those seeking peace, nature, and authenticity. It’s the ideal starting point for hikes, adventures, or simply disconnecting.
Bad phone signal? Even better—things slow down here. And for anything you need, there’s Starlink internet.
I’ll be happy to welcome you, offer tips, and share with you the simple, genuine magic of this place.
The locality of Spaia consists of three clusters of buildings located at around 480 meters above sea level, on a peaceful plateau overlooking the Tagliamento River. Surrounded by mown meadows and pastures, it can be reached from Preone via the Valmanzot road, which is partially unpaved.
Just 10 minutes away lies Socchieve, one of the oldest villages in the Carnia region. Here you'll find two bars, one of which also offers a small grocery store, hot dishes, and platters with local cold cuts.
