We are a family of 4 living in Nozawa Onsen for over 10 years now. Kyoko and Gab have travelled the world on their push bikes for 2 years before settling in the little mountain town Nozawa Onsen. We have 2 little kids Akari and Luca. They are most happy to welcome guests from all over the world as much as their parents do. Nozawa is a unique town and we are sure you will fall in love too with the friendly locals, great nature, natural Onsen and of course the best powder you can find in all of Japan.

Your new home in powder paradise. Akari House has 4 apartments able to cater for almost any sized family or group of friends wanting to experience Nozawa Onsen. Newly renovated, they offer a warm and comfortable home for when you get back from carving up some of the best powder in the world. Come and visit us in the off season too. Spring overs great hiking, mountain biking and outdoor activities in and around Nozawa Onsen. Summer is great to escape the heat of the Japanese cities and cool down in one of the nearby rivers and lakes. Autumn with its changing leaves is stunning and remember the Onsen are open 365 days a year so plan your trip now… The Akari House Swiss Bakery is located in the same building. Come and enjoy our hand made bread, freshly brewed coffee, pastries and the best Pizzas you can find in Nozawa Onsen.

Neighbourhood information

Akari House is located less than a minute from the Nakao Onsen offering a traditional Japanese hot spring bath. It's also a short 5 minute walk to the chairlift and 10 minutes to the town centre for bars and restaurants. You will love the local feel and running water which flows around our property. Nozawa Onsen offers a lot of outdoor activities. Great with kids too at any time of the year. You can Great Lakes and rivers in summer to cool down, the SpArena outdoor pool, downhill Mountain Biking, Hiking, SUP on the nearby Hokuryuko lake or a great hike to the Kosuge Shrine on top of one of the nearby hills. We are more than happy to show you around and assist you to find your perfect holiday adventure in Nozawa Onsen.
