This area where CLASSIC JAPAN LIVING located is belong to the village which gathered by "Kawaguchi Asama Shrine". This shrine was built for Extinguishing of Mt.Fuji eruption 865 years ago. There used to be more than 140 guest houses for Mt.Fuji climber along the ancient road which has gentle curve create nice atomosphere. We started our guest house because we wanted to protect original scenery of Japan, we want all guest to feel and experience " CLASSIC JAPAN LIVING". That is why we renovate old Japanese houses, and try to revive post town which this area used be 865 years ago. We look forward to seeing you all!
The owner has career as interior coordinator and dietitian for 20 years in Tokyo. One day she visit Lake kawaguchi for her work and fall in love with the enviroment around here. And she bought a house to live for herself but she change her mind to make her home guest hosue because she learned from the neighbor about history of post town for Mt.fuji climber 800 years ago it used be, and their progeny still keep doing traditional events every year. She decided to renovate old houses which nobody lives in now and wants it back the landscape it used be like post town 800 years ago.
“Kawaguchi Asama Shrine” with a history of more than 1000 years, ”Haha no Shirataki” which Mt.fuji climber clean their body there before they climb. There are not so many sightseeing spots, but that's the good point. Please have a relax and your own time.
