Welcome to the inn where you can rent the whole building! Hotel KANAU is a first-class accommodation facility that is only available to one group per day. Enjoy a perfect private space with no other guests. There is a piano in the room. Of course, guests can play it. You can play the piano until the morning. There are no neighbors, so you won't receive any complaints. Don't worry. You can also bring your own musical instruments. Dogs are also allowed. An additional fee of 4,400 yen per night will be charged. There is a dog run in the garden in front of the accommodation, and you can also let your dog play in the nearby river. We let sheep roam freely. They are very cute, so please come and meet them. You can also feed them for free. Food is also fine. You can enjoy dinner courses, BBQ, and more. The BBQ is popular and you can enjoy it with everyone in front of the inn. You can bring your own drinks to the BBQ. We also have a regular lunch menu at the evening cafe, which is only available to guests, so you can easily enjoy pasta, pizza, and other dishes. There is a Japanese-style restaurant called "Sankairi" about 10 minutes away by car. It is also fun to spend the night there. You can experience "mochitsuki", a traditional and customary event in Japan. You can eat freshly made mochi on the spot with red bean paste, soybean flour, grated daikon radish, etc. It's delicious.

Welcome to KANAU Village! The history of this family begins with the Jōkyū War (1221). Fujiwara Tanzen, the chief priest of Kumano, participated in the Battle of Uji River at the request of Emperor Go-Toba. After losing the battle, Tanzen settled in this area on his way back to Kumano, and changed his name from Fujiwara to Hori, where he has lived ever since. I am the 29th generation since Tanzen. During the time of Hori Nobumasu, the fourth generation since Tanzen, Emperor Go-Daigo was chased out of Kyoto by Ashikaga Takauji and stayed at this family home. He later moved into Mount Yoshino, but Mount Yoshino was burned down during the reign of the next Emperor, Go-Murakami. Just before that, Emperor Go-Murakami fled and came to this family home. From there, our family home was used as a temporary palace for three generations of Emperors, including Emperor Chokei and Go-Kameyama, 40 years. 700 years have passed since then, and in March 2019, the former Imperial Palace was renovated into a hotel and cafe restaurant. The Edo period tenement house on the premises has been converted into a hotel, and the former Imperial Palace, an Important Cultural Property, has been newly opened as a restaurant. We only accept one group per day, providing you with a perfectly private space. We look forward to your visit.

KANAU no Sato is located exactly halfway between Mt. Yoshino and Mt. Koya. It takes an hour by car to either. You can also go to Totsukawa and Kumano on the R168. It takes about 40 minutes to reach Japan's longest suspension bridge, Tanise Suspension Bridge, in Totsukawa, and 90 minutes to reach Kumano Hongu Taisha. It takes about 90 minutes by car from central Osaka. It takes an hour by train from nearby Hashimoto Station to Osaka Namba. It takes 80 minutes by car to Kansai International Airport. Mt. Yoshino is beautiful in cherry blossom season. In autumn, the leaves of Mt. Koya change color. A shuttle service is also available. There are golf courses nearby. Nara Country and Hashimoto Country. You can also go rafting on the Yoshino River.
