Informace o společnosti
As a backpacker, I have traveled to over 30 countries, staying in countless guesthouses around the world. Within Japan, I have continued my travels and gained hands-on experience working as a helper at guesthouses, particularly in Kyushu. Inspired by these experiences, I decided to create a space in my hometown of Takasaki where travelers and locals alike can come together, spend time freely, and exchange ideas and stories.
With eight years of professional experience in the corporate world, I’ve also designed this guesthouse to accommodate those who might need a space for work-related purposes. Whether you’re here to relax, connect, or focus on your tasks, we’re here to support you.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Informace o ubytování
※Please note: As we are a small guesthouse, we kindly ask all guests to inform us of their expected arrival time in advance.
Our guesthouse is closed outside of 4:00–9:00 PM, and we cannot accept check-in beyond these hours.
Please take this into careful consideration when making your reservation.
Our guesthouse has shared facilities, unlike hotels or inns.
The building is over 50 years old, so you may notice some noise, uneven floors, and an old-fashioned atmosphere.
If you enjoy a bit of retro charm, we think you’ll have a comfortable stay.

Karasuya Guesthouse is a cozy, self-renovated wa-modern guesthouse located just an 8-minute walk from JR Takasaki Station.
Housed in a 52-year-old two-story steel-framed building, it offers 160 square meters of space and accommodates up to 12 guests.
The space has been thoughtfully renovated with DIY touches that preserve its historical charm while adding a fresh new feel.
We aim to create a space where guests can spend their time freely and peacefully.
Our name, Karasuya, reflects our hope that guests may “play freely and rest their wings, like a crow.”
With that spirit in mind, the guesthouse has been designed as follows:
The first floor encourages unexpected encounters and creative inspiration.
The second floor invites quiet reflection and fresh new perspectives.
To ensure a restful stay for everyone, the doors are locked and lights are turned off after 11:00 PM. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a peaceful environment.
We have three unique guest rooms, available for private stays or full-house bookings.
Each room has its own distinct atmosphere and features.
You can follow us @karasuya_gh
for renovation stories, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and the latest updates!
Whether you're looking for a quiet moment with a book,
a productive workcation,
or simply a new perspective from a different way of spending time—
We look forward to welcoming you and sharing this special place with you.
