Hello! My name is Ryo Akamatsu. Please call me "Ryo-san."
My Story: I am originally from Nagoya (Aichi Prefecture) but moved to Omachi over 10 years ago because I fell in love with the nature and lifestyle here. My wife is a local, so I have deep connections to this area.
Why I run this Guest House: I myself was a "migrant" to this countryside, so I understand the excitement of discovering new places. I created this space to connect travelers from around the world with the local community. We often have casual parties in the living room!
My Hobbies:
Music: Piano (I play in the living room sometimes!), Guitar.
Sports: Skiing, Snowboarding, Tennis, Soccer, SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding).
Ask me about:
Hidden local Izakaya (Japanese pubs) and restaurants not listed in guidebooks.
The best spots for skiing or hiking depending on the day's weather.
Life in rural Japan.
I respect your privacy, but I am always happy to chat. Feel free to ask me anything during your stay!
