On its first floor, there are tatami mats living room with wood dining table with 5 chairs, kitchen with a good selection of cooking utensils, modern Japanese toilet and round tile bath tub with Japanese cypress wall. On the second floor features traditional tatami mat bedroom (sleeping on futon) which can be separated into 2 rooms with Fusuma( sliding paper doors).

While we were traveling, we always try to talk with locals, eat and enjoy like we live there. We hope our house would provide you the experience like we enjoyed in the other countries, "living like a local". Both of us loves trekking, cycling, yoga, reading and drawing. Also we are very into tea ceremony. Shimo is good at Japanese history & cooking (especially sushi!) and Rika loves textile and antiques( ask her favorite shops!) It would be nice if we could go for trekking or cycling together, or make Japanese dishes together. We look forward to hosting you and share the seasonal beauty of Kyoto with you.
