住宿信息
Manabi-stay Takayama is located in a great location for sightseeing, just a 6-minute walk from the station and a 2-minute walk to the "old streets". During the day, many tourists come and go, but at night it is truly quiet. You will be surrounded by silence. Although Takayama is known as a tourist city, this tranquility cannot be experienced anywhere else. We would like to help you experience the local culture, traditions, food, etc. through your stay and provide a space that feels like a second home. We hope that you will enjoy the scent of the Showa period and the innovative design in the quietness of the house. If you are looking for a lively room-drinking experience or a banquet/party, this is not the place for you at all. This is a private hotel in an old private house for those who wish to spend their time quietly.
周边信息
Only 200 meters from Manabi-stay Takayama, you can admire the "old streets" of Takayama. You can enjoy tasting local sake while eating Takayama's famous Mitarashi dumplings or Hida beef nigirizushi. There are also many restaurants nearby where you can enjoy lunch at a traditional soba (buckwheat noodle) restaurant or enjoy Hida beef. There are also many izakaya (Japanese style pubs) around Manabi-stay Takayama. One of the best ways to enjoy the local signature dishes, hoba-yaki and pickled steak, is to stroll around Takayama at night, when the atmosphere is different from that of the daytime. A traditional Japanese game of bow and arrow (han-yumi) is also recommended. This traditional entertainment can be enjoyed by everyone, young and old, children and elderly alike. Afterwards, don't forget to try the Takayama Ramen.
In the morning, get up early and go to the morning market. Morning markets are held daily at two locations in the city. The morning market at Takayama Jinya is a 3-minute walk (about 240 meters) away. At the morning market, you can buy freshly harvested vegetables, traditional handicrafts, and souvenirs. The Miyagawa morning market is a 5-minute walk (400m) away.
