The inn is run by 2 locals who are passionate about Japanese tea and the culture of Wazuka. Our goal is to create a welcoming, peaceful environment where guests feel at home. Upon request, we offer guided tours of the local tea fields and tea experiences. We speak English and are happy to host guests from around the world.

Osugi-ya is a serene countryside Japanese-style inn (ryokan) located in the tea-growing village of Wazuka, Kyoto. This 150-year-old traditional Japanese house has been beautifully renovated to offer a harmonious blend of comfort and authenticity. Each room features tatami flooring and natural materials, designed to help guests unwind and reconnect with nature. A seasonal breakfast (vegetarian/vegan options available) and welcome tea are included in your stay.
