Pres de La Mer was built in 1898, more than 120 years old brick warehouse building located in the old town area of Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan. We fully renovated into modern and unique interior so our guests can sit back and relax in our place.
Pres de La Mer” means “Near the sea” in French. Our place is under the theme of the sea or water. Although we are not facing the sea, the wharf is only a few minutes’ walk away, and you can feel the sound of whistle of the ship or smell of the sea even in our facility.
Our building was originally built in 1898, used as the warehouse for food distribution of our company trading with outside of Hokkaido. It was kept in the original style for more than 50 years unused. Then we fully renovated into modern interior with old brick building structure with a lot of art decoration. You can sit and relax your stay as if your house is a museum.
Pres de La Mer is located at historical area in Hakodate, there are unique souvenior shops, local restaurants, and some museums. such as Folk museum,museum of Northern pepole.
