We greet you with the warmest welcome at two tigers bungalows & community cafe.
We, and the village have been putting a lot of hard work in to ensure you have the most authentic, relaxing and enjoyable experience here in the bustling heart of sok san.
About our Bungalows
We currently have two beautifully and simply decorated bungalows here in the center of the village, with just the right amount of creature comforts to complete your stay with us.
Bungalows one and two which we've named wildcat and lynx. Wildcat is located nearer to the road, while Lynx is the second in our terrace, both brightly coloured, unmistakably striking in the traditional khmer style, with comfortable seating outside on the balcony, with a beautifully comfortable 180:200 mattress and plenty of space to store your items, with tea and coffee making facilities on a table where you can enjoy takeout or a lovely cup of tea (or beer if you prefer) while you discuss your plan on the island. There is also a big barrel of drinking water to refill yor water and cut down on plastic, just ask us to exchange it when it runs low.
If there's anything you need during your stay with us don't hesitate to ask. Need extra tea and coffee? We can bring it to you. Fancy a boat trip or scooter hire? Our friends at Akhara can make you smile! We can even offer hula hoop lessons - we love solutions! if you are facing any difficulties please let us know so we can resolve them, please don't wait until review time to let us know where we may have got it wrong.
It's an absolute honour to watch people's faces break into a smile they probably never made as they look at the beautiful view and the sea, taking in a vibe that is so magical and we want your stay with us to mirror the vibrancy and magic of this island jewel.
Welcome to our little village!
PAYMENTS. We do accept cash but we also have other methods of payment such as Skrill, or PayPal. You can make payment before, during or after your stay.
Anthony “Choppa” white is Tiger one in the partnership. Back in the UK he's an artist and a carpenter having helped to deliver many successful projects, helping people in our Brighton community, now he brings his unique artistic brand to our project here, always with a smile and an endearing positive attitude.
I myself, known as Mickey Klaa I've been working in the hospitality industry for many years but recently I've enjoyed a stint in the UK as a binman, an outdoor activity student instructor and a circus skill instructor for over 12 years. I came to this island in 2018 and didn't want to leave so I came back every year and started working at bars and bungalows on the island. I eventually convinced my partner to come and join me in this journey to bring more smiles and more lifetime experiences to as many people as we can!
The Beach.
Part of the reason I kept coming back was because of the beach here in Sok San. The sand squeaks when you walk on it. The water is crystal clear. In the dead of night, at new moon you can bath in the sparkling plankton. The sunset is one of the most beautiful performances in the sky, turning day into night in a scene that will make your jaw drop. It is one of the top 25 beaches in the world, and when you see it, you'll understand why.
Sadly there is an unfortunate amount of rubbish that washes up on the beach. I've seen it both as the tourist and now I feel as a local, be aware the island and it's community has an action plan for dealing with this rubbish. There are communities that pick it up and weekly cleanups. There's so much enthusiasm on the island to clear up the rubbish and it's heartbreaking when more just washes up in from the mainland. We do offer a free beer or two to people who collect one binbag of rubbish - please know that the island is doing everything it can to keep the beaches clean!
Waterfall - Yes, there is a waterfall located quite close to us, about a 10 minutes walk away. Even in the peak of dry season it can still be worth the experience.
The village. Our bungalows are located in the heart of the village of Sok San - there are lots and lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and if you venture over the bridge, even more. We can recommend the best places for your tastes and budget but, if you're adventurous, have a little wander and get lost in the soul of our village, whereEver you find it.
The dogs and cats like to sing in chorus sometimes at night, usually stopped by me grumpily reminding them we have guests
The island. This island is vast, with loads of different areas each hosting a vibe that is unique and unfound anywhere else. Looking to party? Scuba? Koh Tuch is for you! Fancy a luxurious meal or a good selection of restaurants? Head over to long set! We can advise you on the best places to suit the atmosphere you crave!
