Barbara, a lovely lady from the UK realised her lifelong dream with building Khomba Lodge. To live on this tropical island, waking up to the sound of the sea and have a swim in the pool first thing in the morning, the light and the colours and the beauty of Sri Lanka is her delight. She comes regularly a couple of times a year and would love to see Khomba Lodge filled with more life and to share the place. Jasmin, a German Lady, living in the area for couple of years is taking care of your bookings and will be your contact person in Tangalle. Gayan, who is Barbaras right hand since the beginning of the project will also be around to look after you and is available as a driver or tour guide for our guests. And Rihan, a young man from Tangalle will be your housekeeper. All three will make sure that you have a pleasant stay at Khoba Lodge and that you have everything you need for a wonderful holiday.

A home for you in Sri Lanka Khomba Lodge is situated right at the beginning of Medaketiya Beach in Tangalle. A beautiful 3 storey apartment house surrounded by Khomba trees with a pool in the garden and your own beach access. You can rent one of the three apartments. The ground floor, “Kingfisher”, has its terrace facing the garden and the pool while “Sunbird” with not only the big balcony towards the sea but also the front terrace facing the entrance with the beauty of the enormous Khomba trees. From “Peacock” on top floor you have the widest view over Tangalle bay. Khomba Lodge is a modern build house from stone and beautiful wood used for the folding doors, windows, frames and carvings. Locally produced colourful hand loom sofas and chairs, decorated with beautiful pieces of local batic art. The modern design in combination with Sri Lankan tradition and elegant colours and well considered setup let you feel the open, airy and happy mood of the place. Each apartment has of two bedrooms with attached bathroom and own private balcony. Connected to each other through a spacious salon with its own common balcony / terrace. The apartments have their own western standard, well equipped kitchen with washing machine. So you can enjoy caring for yourself. If you prefer we can also arrange our cook to prepare meals for you or even giving you a Sri Lankan cooking classe. We can arrange scooter or bicycle hire and are happy to advice you about the area and how to get around. Through the expressway Tangalle is only 2,5 hours away from the airport. We have a 24 h security on the property and cctv all around. We aim that you feel safe and protected while we deeply respect your privacy. The perfect place for a break from the hotels during your holiday, also for your whole vacation or even long time visits or digital nomad life. Unluckily we learned that we have to add costs for Wi-Fi, if more then 5GB are used per day.

While you live in peace and nature at the beach, the livelihood from Tangalle is just around the corner, a convenient walking distance away. Strolling along Medaketiya Beach Road you’ll find different restaurants on the beach, local shops for food or souvenirs, yoga classes or possibilities for kayaking on the lagoon. In the evening its such a lovely sight, all the restaurants with the colourful lights, displaying the catch of the day offering you their best service and a delicious dinner while you watch the sea and the stars. It’s just a 5 min walk to town where you will find the vegetable market, shops, banks, pharmacies and all other needs. Twice a week its market day and when you enter the area you will be overwhelmed by the varieties of fruit and vegetables, the colours and the smiles of the people. Tangalle area offers you a lot to explore. With a three-wheel or maybe a rented scooter/bicycle you can easily get around and discover the beauty of paddy fields, loose time at secluded beaches, dive into the world of birds at the big Rekawa lagoon or watch turtles lay their eggs. The beautiful and usually not crowded Mulkirigalle Rock Monastery is just a few km away, the blow hole at Kudawella or Dondra Head, the most southern point of Sri Lanka are easy to reach. Yala, Bundala, Udawalawe National Parks, Sinharja Rain Forest, Kataragama Temple or a shopping day in Galle are perfect for a day trip. We can also arrange tours with overnight stays to the various places and sightseeing places like Ella, Horton plains with world end, AdamsPeak etc. Also airport transfers can be arranged
