Marine started in 1979by late Mr.M ichel fernando ,officer at immigration and emigration .
I’m Beney, your host, and I’ve always loved meeting travelers from around the world and sharing the simple joys of Sri Lankan life — from a fresh cup of tea at sunset to a walk along our golden beach just steps away.
Our small team, including my family and long-time staff, takes pride in offering a cozy, friendly space where guests can relax after a long flight or before starting their island adventure. We truly enjoy hearing your stories, helping you discover local culture, and making sure you feel part of our community.
When I’m not managing the hostel, I enjoy traveling, watching documentaries, trying new recipes, and exploring Sri Lanka’s hidden gems — and I love passing those tips on to my guests!

Kitesurf in Negombo
From May-Sept its possible to kitesurf in Negombo with winds from 10-18 knts so a 12 to 14 m kite is needed with some storm weather fronts coming through on some days so a 9m kite sometimes is needed. Conditions are not for beginners though and experience is needed to get through the shore break. Browns Beach is the best option for a great wide beach for launch and landing.
