Located in a tranquil village area close to Weligama, our lush garden boasts an array of fruit, vegetables and spices. These are used in our kitchen and allow us to offer a variety of seasonal fresh organic food to our guests. The front verandah presents an ‘infinity garden’ effect, looking across to the verdant woodland opposite. You can expect to see many natural local visitors, from peacocks and other exotic birdlife, to squirrels, chameleons, iguanas, and even the occasional monkey swinging in the trees nearby. We're surrounded by cinnamon plantations, paddy fields and a variety of jungle trees, all adding to the calm rural ambience. Our enticing swimming pool will enhance your stay here, as well as offering a place to cool down in the heat of the Sri Lankan sun. You can also get a massage from a local ayurvedic masseur in our very own massage hut - a space that can also be used for yoga and meditation. Serendipity is owned by Gavin F. London born and bred, he first visited Sri Lanka in 2004 and fell in love with this beautiful country. In late 2017 he purchased Serendipity, and undertook a full refurbishment of the property, along with the addition of a beautiful swimming pool and, more recently, a massage/meditation hut. Running his own business as a copywriter and proofreader, as well as promoting Sri Lanka as a tourist and business destination, he loves showing his guests the delights that the island can offer. He will be in residence for much of the year (especially during the winter 'high' season) and is happy to offer any help that is requested. He is a big fan of the BBC TV show, Doctor Who, and of Eurovision! ** Gavin is not currently present at the property but will return in mid-autumn 2024. When he is not there, our housekeeper, Viraj, will be responsible for looking after you. He has more than 8 years of experience in the hospitality industry in Sri Lanka, previously working with tourists and visitors at both hotels and restaurants in the area. He speaks good English and is currently enjoying making some big changes to our garden
