After several years travelling in more than 50 countries, we finally decided to settle in Marrakech and to open this humble guesthouse that we call Dar Margot. At Dar Margot we would like to provide our guests a quiet haven from where they can discover Morocco and the history of the red city Marrakech. We at Dar Margot would like that our guests feel as if at their own home and we aim for them to feel like a member of our own family. Dar Margot is very aware of it's Environment and tries as hard as possible to make all we offer to our guests as Environmentally friendly as possible. including sourcing as much food locally as possible. Arst Elhouta is a neighborhood that dates from the early part of the last century. The district was originally a farm which was then converted into accommodation to house the different musical troupes and dancers coming from all over the Kingdom to animate the evenings and celebrations of the famous Pasha of Marrakech, Thami Glaoui. The Arst Elhouta district is a very safe place to wander around taking in the sights of the local artisans producing items for sale in the souks or grabbing some delicious street food.. We are right in the heart of the old medina district, located just 10 minutes' walk from the famous Djemâa Elfna square. Almost all of the touristic centre of the city is well within thirty minute's level walk from us or you can avail of taxis or even horse-drawn carriages to get around for longer trips or during hotter weather.
