週遭環境資訊
Chefchaouen, also known internationally and locally as the Blue City, is a Moroccan city located in northern Morocco. It was founded in 1971 to receive and shelter the Muslims of Andalusia after they were expelled by the Spanish.
The Blue City is characterized by a unique and simple cultural lifestyle, resulting from centuries of integration and intermingling, devoid of traditions and customs. Its natural beauty and geographical location led to its selection in 2010 as a symbol of the Mediterranean food system by UNESCO. In addition, its cultural components are enhanced by traditional crafts, local regional products, and natural landscapes, particularly agricultural ones, and local products.
Chefchaouen is located at the foot of Mount El Kalaa, surrounded by mountain peaks on all sides, and is approximately 100 km from Tangier. Chefchaouen attracts more than a million tourists from all over the world annually. It boasts dozens of tourist attractions and hundreds of hotels serving guests. These hotels, which are predominantly Andalusian in style, are usually houses and gardens that are restored every few decades.
