Okambishi's Rest is a small, family run business. We offer a two-bedroom and an one-bedroom apartment, both equipped with all the amenities you need. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, freezer, stove & oven, coffee maker, pots & pan, crockery etc. We also provide coffee, tea, sugar, salt & pepper and cooking oil. There is a shady veranda on which you can enjoy your meals or just watch the abundance of birds, the sunset or gaze into the sky at night. We offer you sun beds and a barbecue to give you a chance to relax from a busy day. We do not have WiFi, it's nice to switch-off once in a while.
Spitzkoppe, the Philipp's Cave and the Living San Museum can be reached in approximately an hour's drive.
"Return to Africa" - that was our decision after having lived in Canada for the past five and a half years and many years in Austria and South Africa. November 2022 we made our dream come true and purchased Okambishi's Rest. Making the choice of attending Hotel Trade School in Vienna I realized my passion for the hospitality and tourism trade.
We both love the vastness and solitude Namibia offers, all the amazing surprises one discovers on hikes. We love the wilderness and the untouched one is still able to find here. Although there are challenges to overcome and life is not always easy, one has the feeling of being alive and not just functioning.
Usakos is a small town and not much is happening here but there is a supermarket, liquor store, post office, the Usakos Bistro, the Oasis Food Stall (both offer good food) and two petrol stations.
