Hi, I’m Patty! With a heart full of love for animals and 20 years of experience as the proud owner of a pet shop in Huizen, life led me to Friesland in 2020—where I found the love of my life. In 2024, our happiness became complete with the birth of our child. This special moment inspired me to take a new path: I sold my pet shop and poured my heart into a new adventure here in Friesland—creating this beautiful B&B. From the very beginning, I had one clear mission: to create a charming, perfectly maintained house equipped with all the comforts you need. A place where you can truly relax, surrounded by the peace and beauty of Friesland. Located next to the charming Eleven Cities town of Sloten and right on the famous Eleven Cities cycling route, our B&B is the perfect base for discovering this beautiful region. Here, families with children can enjoy their stay without worries, and dogs are not only welcome—they’ll feel just as at home as their owners. Welcome to B&B De Friese Meren In the heart of the beautiful Frisian countryside, surrounded by meadows and scenic lakes, you’ll find our charming detached home. A place where birds wake you in the morning, and deer and hares frolic in the grass. Sometimes, even the cows come curiously close to the garden. Our B&B is peaceful, yet ideally located. The picturesque town of Sloten is just minutes away by bike, and lively Lemmer is also nearby. The house is right on the famous Elfstedentocht cycling route – perfect for cycling enthusiasts. The house is spacious and comfortable, suitable for six guests. Completely private for you! The cozy living room offers great views, and the kitchen is fully equipped. Bedrooms are spread over two floors. The bathroom and toilet are on the ground floor. A cot and highchair are available for little ones. After each stay, the home is professionally cleaned. The garden is fenced, with a terrace, storage space, and private parking. We don’t serve breakfast (yet), but the kitchen has everything you need. We look forward to welcoming you to Tjerkgaast!

B&B De Friese Meren in Tjerkgaast is perfectly situated between the charming Elfsteden town of Sloten and the lively Lemmer. It is the ideal base for discovering beautiful Southwest Friesland. Explore the wooded Gaasterland with its rolling hills and picturesque villages such as Balk, Woudsend, Joure, Sint Nicolaasga, and Langweer – all within cycling distance. The B&B is also located along the famous Elfsteden route, which you can follow by car or bike, taking you through the iconic Elfsteden towns of Friesland, including Sloten. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the region’s rich cultural and historical heritage. For a bit more adventure, the bustling cities of Heerenveen (17 km) and Sneek (14 km) are less than 20 minutes away by car. But nature and water are never far: enjoy the beautiful Frisian Lakes, such as Slotermeer, Heegermeer, Sneekermeer, the Fluessen, and Tjeukemeer. And don’t forget De Luts, a picturesque waterway that winds through the green landscape, perfect for a peaceful boat or canoe trip. After a day full of adventure, you can relax at the B&B, and for a day trip, you’re within an hour’s drive of both Leeuwarden (55 km) and Amsterdam (79 km).
