B&B La Balena is located just a 15-minute walk from Zaandijk station and the iconic Zaanse Schans. Our accommodation is the perfect base for an unforgettable stay in this historic and picturesque area. Our B&B is a comfortable, single-storey bungalow, located in our backyard, that makes you feel right at home. With its central location, you can easily explore the Zaan region and enjoy its tranquility, while still having the option to experience the dynamic energy of Amsterdam.

I am Claudia and together with my partner Jaïr we have transformed our garden house into a guesthouse. Jaïr works in construction and I work in marketing. We have two cats (Gappie & Pita) who walk around in our backyard. We both love animals, nature and traveling. We live in a special neighborhood in Zaandijk, where picturesque wooden houses are located in typical Zaanse architectural style. We look forward to welcoming you!

B&B La Balena is located in a district in Zaandijk called 'Domineestuin'. In this district you will only find wooden houses in typical 'Zaanse' style. Some of these houses are monumental, other houses (like ours) are built in this classic style but with more modern technology in the 80's. This car-free district is surrounded by water and small walking bridges. The Zaan region has a remarkable history related to whaling. We are very happy that whale hunting no longer plays an important role in the Zaan region, but we have named our B&B La Balena as a tribute to these beautiful animals.
